CREC Women’s Panelist Recap — Meet the Women Moving Capital
CREC Women gathered on April 29 at the offices of Herrick, Feinstein LLP, for a lively and engaging panel discussion featuring some of the most accomplished women in commercial real estate finance. The event kicked off with a warm and inspiring introduction from Belinda Schwartz, Executive Chair of the Firm, who set the tone for an evening of candid conversation and collegial connection. Moderated by Cornell alumna Holly Gladstone, a Partner and Co-Chair of the Real Estate Finance Group at Herrick, the discussion drew on the deep expertise of three distinguished panelists and Cornell alumnae: Melissa Farrell of PGIM, Heather Mutterpearl of Invesco, and Tracy Gamble of Apollo.
The panelists shared thoughtful perspectives on the current real estate market, walked through notable transactions in which they have been involved, and discussed the broader investment, origination, and disposition strategies guiding their institutions today. The conversation offered a window into how leading capital sources are navigating the ever-evolving market dynamics, with each panelist bringing a distinct vantage point, from insurance company capital to institutional asset management to private equity, and sharing candid stories and hard-won insights along the way.

The panel also enjoyed some lighter moments when the moderator invited the group to reminisce about their Cornell days and favorite hangout spots, such as Ruloffs, Dunbars, or the Nines, sparking laughter and shared nostalgia among attendees. The blend of professionalism and personal warmth made the event especially memorable. Many thanks to Herrick for sponsoring and hosting, to our CREC Women Co-Chairs, Kamilla B. Rodrigues, Esq. (Hotel ‘08) and Carolyn Pianin (MBA ‘87), to our panelists, and to everyone else who contributed to its success.
