Fortunes Made and Lost: A Walking Tour of Wall Street’s Greatest Crashes

June 14, 2026 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

- $25

CANCELLED DUE TO ILLNESS. STAY TUNED FOR A RESCHEDULED DATE SOON.

On June 14, 2026, Cornell Real Estate Council Women invites you to tour the historic blocks of Lower Manhattan on foot, where you’ll discover the booms, busts, and scandals that have shaped American finance. The walking tour will take about 2 hours, followed by lunch with our guide.

Led by Richard Warshauer of Colliers International, this engaging walking tour brings to life the drama of Wall Street’s most significant crashes. From the 1920 Morgan Bank explosion to the 1929 Great Crash, the rise and fall of Drexel Burnham Lambert, and the collapse of Lehman Brothers, each stop links a notable building to the influential figures and major events behind it.

The tour begins at Alexander Hamilton’s Old Custom House at Bowling Green and includes 12 stops across Lower Manhattan. You’ll pass the original New York Stock Exchange, Goldman Sachs’ historic headquarters, and walk through Hanover Square.

Throughout the tour, you’ll hear stories about figures like Ivan Boesky, Michael Milken, and Carl Icahn. You’ll understand why Joe Kennedy’s shoeshine man is important, what the 1987 crash teaches us 39 years later, and how 70 Pine Street transformed from a dream into a disaster and then back again.
