CREC Philadelphia – Panel Discussion at the Fitler Club
CREC Philadelphia gathered for an in-person tour and discussion panel on Tuesday, March 14th at the Fitler Club. After half an hour of networking time and an introduction from chairman Darin Jellison ‘98, there was a panel discussion on “The Rebirth of the Private Club Model” followed by a tour of the space. Speakers were David Gutstadt (Good City Studio), Amanda Potter (Good City Studio), and Jeff David (Align Hospitality), and moderator was Tien-Yueh Kubach ‘99 (Lubert-Adler). The event was a huge success with over 30 attendees, and big thanks to the CREC National for the support and funding.
The discussion covered many interesting topics, including the success of today’s private club model coming from robust and distinct programming which allows developers to monetize amenities, to variations of the private club model can be woven into residential, hospitality and office products. Furthermore, the panel mused that the Fitler Club broke away from the stereotypes of the traditional private club by focusing on the people and community, and its strong programming and diverse product offering allowed the Fitler Club to create a sense of community and diversity.
We received great feedback from the attendees – many loved the idea of hearing from the creators of the Fitler Club and then getting to tour the property.
